2020 LALA LETTER PLANNERS
HERE'S TO GIRL POWER
Each year, Lala Letter chooses a cause to donate a percentage of profits. The first year we donated over $1k to charities with our main efforts donated to help nature and ocean preservation. This year our focus is on #girlpower, or women's equality efforts to be precise. The names of each planner is based on a historical women trailblazer. Check them out below.
COCO CHANEL (1883-1971)
A fashion icon she is and forever will remain, Coco Chanel changed the industry of fashion. Born Gabriella Chanel and raised by nuns in a Catholic Orphanage in France, Chanel was instructed to pursue a careers as a seamstress upon leaving school, but she had some much bigger ideas in mind...
MADAM C.J. WALKER (1867-1919)
It’s incredibly difficult for a woman to start a business in today’s world, but can you even imagine even attempting such a thing as a black woman in the 1800s? Most at the time probably thought it impossible, but I like to imagine Madam C.J. Walker laughing in the face of the haters and doing it anyway.
MURIEL (MICKIE) SIEBERT (1928-2013)
A woman? Involved with money? During the 60s? You may think we’re trippin, but we’re not. We have Muriel Siebert “Mickie” to thank for bravely blazing a trail into the world no woman had stepped in before: finance, specifically the NY Stock Exchange.
MORE ABOUT THE MISSION
Lala Letter is the product of perseverance of a woman entrepreneur, or as we like to say #girlboss. Bella Gonzalez began Lala Letter as a senior thesis project in Mississippi, but before she knew it, the small idea had blossomed into a small business. Here we are over 2 years later continuing that growth from Los Angeles.
Each year, Lala Letter chooses a cause to donate a percentage of profits. The first year we donated over $1k to charities with our main efforts donated to help nature and ocean preservation. Last year, each planner was named after an aspect of the environment (pink = cotton, blue = ocean, grey = sky); we plan to do the same in years to come. This year our focus is on #girlpower, or women's equality efforts to be precise. The names of each planner is based on a historical women trailblazer. Check them out below.
This year Lala Letter, wants to help young women entrepreneurs like Bella have the means to grow their small ideas into small businesses. History tells us that women didn't play a huge roll in entrepreneurship due to the ruthless suppression they faced until modern day. But there are a few standout #girlbosses from history we would like to honor through our 2020 planner collection. Explore their stories below. This year 2% of profits will be donated to various women's equality efforts and women entrepreneurship funds dedicated to granting young women the means to grow their ideas into businesses.
